What better way to honor International Women’s Day (March 8) than this new documentary which takes us to the heart of the feminist art movement. Gathering footage from over 40 years, director Lynn Hershman Leeson interweaves personal testimonies of female artists and activists to convey the experience of the movement. Having premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and recently screened at Berlinale, it is sure to be an international must-see and I hope it comes to Barcelona soon.

Following the trend of complementary interactive community-engagement projects for documentaries, Hershman Lesson has partnered with other creative minds to build RAW/WAR: a community curated archive and new media installation. It provides an ongoing platform for people to “share their stories and collaboratively contribute to the history of women’s art.” So send in your media starring all the creative women you know and add to this dynamic visual women’s library. And check out a new archive daily so this year you celebrate women every day.
