We chatted with Mr. Llobet himself to find out more about the salons and why they are so much more than just an English-speaking alternative. Anthony explains, “I get so bored by the look of modern salons.” He aims to bring a unique aesthetic to his four Barcelona spaces: “I only use antiques in my salons. Old barbershop chairs that are at least 100 years old is a must.” Anthony also brings a multi-cultural approach and atmosphere to his business, telling us, “We have stylists from all around the world. When you call for an appointment you can basically ask for any of the main languages. We speak over ten.”
If you manage to get an appointment with the man himself you can feel assured that you are in safe hands. First, he is TRESemmé’s ambassador for Spain, “I work on stage, teaching journalists how to get different looks – they then write these tips in Spain's top magazines. We are basically teaching the public to get the best out of their hair.” He is also the hairdresser on TV show “Model Express,” Spain’s equivalent to “America’s Next Top Model,” a regular fixture at New York Fashion Week and an on-set film stylist. The sky’s the limit for Anthony Llobet.
