For a busy woman like me, whose full-time job and hectic home live leave little time for working out, technology is a savior. Videogame consoles such as the Xbox Kinect and Nintendo Wii, as well as Reebok EasyTone trainers, have been my indispensable exercise helping hands.

EasyTones are designed to tone your legs and buttocks and promote weight loss. After over a month of daily use, my personal verdict is that they improve posture; they are also very comfy thanks to the three “balance pods” in the soles which make walking a lighter, more enjoyable experience. That said, I am not any slimmer, and my backside looks pretty much the same, so don’t expect any miracles. For weight loss you need to do aerobic exercise too.

The video games consoles, with their specific exercise programs, are good for tracking daily progress and are a fun form of home-exercise which takes up far less space than the conventional cycling or running machine. And you can get your whole family on board getting into shape without the extortionate gym fees.

The video game workout programs include yoga, aerobic, dance… you can personalize your workout to focus on specific areas as well as count the calories burned in each session and monitor your weight. With the Wii Fit video game, you perform exercises on top of a Balance Board platform which records your progress. The Xbox Kinect works without controls, using a biometric scanner that records your movements and reflects them onscreen in the game. Both are great fun, important in helping you maintain a consistent exercise program.

Seize the day by getting in shape, and get that bikini body in time for summer. Your health and beauty with thank you for it.
