There was a time when coloring books were meant to keep kids occupied, as they tried with all their might to say within the lines. Adults would never dream of filling in the outline of a blooming flower with hot pink, they were simply relieved by the peace and quite they got as a result of their children’s firm concentration. That was the past and times are changing.

Now, there are coloring books fit for shoving in the back of the parents’ closet, along with the Playboy magazines from the 1970s. Tyson “Hot Balls” McAdoo created adult coloring books to allow those over the age of 20 enjoy the pleasures of staying within the lines, while crossing them. His book Hot Wax is composed of 32 pages, each with line drawings of scandalously sexy women outfitted in skimpy lingerie, towering heels and plenty of tattoos, striking racy poses. McAdoo even includes saucy games, such as a maze called “Put the Heel on the Foot” and a raunchy word search. Tricks may be for kids, but coloring books are for everyone.
