Vegetarian shoes? Not, as you may think, the latest in trendy eating, instead Ecozap offers a range of environmentally and animal friendly footwear. Substituting leather and other animal products normally used in shoe production, the company mixes a variety of ingredients including cotton, linen, rubber, biodegradable microfibre, cork, and latex to create zapatos of both aesthetic and ethical purity. Recyclable, biodegradable, and even – in the case of the Blackspot Sneaker – forwarding the goals of solidarity (the shoes are produced in Portugal by a worker’s cooperative), Ecozap provides a trendy alternative for both the tarmac and your conscience.
