Inspired by the bustling city, a fleeting memory or talented artist, 31-year-old Sarah Kusnadi converts the world around her into breathtaking textile prints. Her graphic designs and illustrations, both for fashion and home textiles, take viewers into a whimsical reality, filled with color and beauty.
From the age of 14, Sarah has known her calling was to be a designer. With a natural ability to produce art in the most creative of ways, she says, “I realized I would only be happy and fulfilled if I could create something.” Her dream took off when at the age of 19 she began studying graphic design and later textile engineering. Now, the versatile artist is working on layouts for Falleras Valencianas (traditional Valencian dresses with intricate floral patterns), T-shirts and one-of-a-kind, hand-drawn, funky sneakers. On top of it all Sarah, along with a friend, founded a project called NOS (No Ordinary Stuff), in which she and her partner dedicate themselves to individualized textile and graphic design. As her work progresses, Sarah sees herself working for a fashion label or home textiles company, combining her drawing and sketching talent with computer production skills.
