No need to fear signs of gray hair any longer, not only is it acceptable, it's fashionable.

One of the scariest signs of growing old is the first strand of gray hair—for women at least. Men have grown comfortable sporting gray after the gorgeous George Clooney began showing off his salt and pepper locks in 2008, making it not just acceptable but desirable as well. Now women are finally embracing their gray—at times using hair dye to achieve the look.

When the hip, 19-year-old English scenester Pixie Geldolf poked her gray head of hair outside her car in London in December, it was hard to believe that a wrinkle-free face came with it. Since then, gray hair has popped up on the runway of designer Giles Deacon and in silvery highlights on supermodel Kate Moss. With peroxide blond abounding last year, adding just a little more toner caused the blond to go bluish gray, making it the new ‘it’ shade. Check out the Beauty is a Religion blog by the creators of the trend, Alex Brownsell and Lou Teasdale, to learn how to get the look and feel good going gray. AP
