The Spring/Summer 2011 fashion weeks held last fall gave us a peek inside what’s coming up and what’s to be expected in fashion-influenced circles. Names like Alexandre Herchcovitch, Marc Jacobs, Jill Sander, Prada, Loewe, Nina Ricci and Christian Dior showed a powerful spectrum of eclectic colors. Hyper color blocking is definitely the trend this season together with 70s-influenced fashion: long flowing skirts, bell shaped bottoms and off-the-shoulder tops.
Bright colors were also seen on shoes and accessories of models in Paris, London and New York. And runway make-up and hair styles weren’t shy to luminous pigments and dyes, as influential designers combined the hyper color trend with big hair and bright glosses to give the collections a full 70s-inspired feel. Color blocking hot tones has never been such a must for ready-to-wear spring/summer outfits.
Whether it’s mixing two solid colors in a look or simply accessorizing with hyper shades; when the sun comes out, top cities fashionistas are sure to mimic the catwalks and shine the light on a street corner near you. This season’s wardrobe comes loud, so leave dull and conservative at home and show off those confident color blocks!
