Remember the futuristic cartoon series The Jetsons, with all the cool gizmos that made life easier with one simple command? With all the technological advances this day in age, what once was TV land fantasy is becoming reality. Mister, a taxi gondola transportation system, is quite like the freeway in the sky of the Jetsons’ world. A series of light, truss rails are installed 10 meters above the city, so as not to interfere with street life. Suspended from these rails are small, voice-controlled gondolas. They hold up to five people each and move at the rapid pace of 50 km an hour. Tell the smart little sky taxi where to go. It closes its doors, slides down the main lines and switches to the specific rail line to bring you safely to your destination. Sounds like a dream come true, but we all know George Jetson’s aerocar couldn’t be bought with a BCN salary. Luckily for us, the Mister is just as affordable as taking the bus and is being developed in Poland at this very moment. At this pace, we may all have our own robot cleaning ladies fully equipped with coffee makers and moral advice in no time!
