For anyone who has shied-away from reading newspapers due to an inexplicable aversion to ink, praise be to Amazon for Kindle. Their new electronic reading device is wireless and boasts an electronic paper display. The owner can have international newspaper and magazine subscriptions, as well as book purchases, delivered directly to the reading gizmo that is thinner and lighter than traditional paperbacks. In addition Kindle can be used for word processing, viewing photos and even listening to mp3s. Although Kindle has a few kinks to work out, mainly the not-so-sleek design, and less than perfect mp3 component, the pros far outweigh these freshman missteps. Text size of books and periodicals can be adjusted, bookmarks and annotations to text can be added, a built-in dictionary is provided and it has a surprisingly long battery life. So banish the plastic gloves and anti-bacterial hand wash and pick up your favourite newspaper for a fearless and inkless read.
