The webpage for human rights writing is heading in a new direction come winter. An edited journal of pure protest poetry is on their agenda. Fighting prose packed with injustice and eyewitness accounts of current human wrongdoing will fill the new epages. Updated twice during the month, readers can opt to have the poignant verses delivered to their email inbox. They are also calling for everyone to pick up pen and pad or take to the keyboard. Check out submission rules in their Poet Guidelines. Shying away from the simplistic and sappy, they want raw and angered, mournful, and even demanding writing. One thing they will not accept is partisan half-truths. Keep it neutral, factual and above all powerful. To light a fire under enraged social issue fighting prose-makers the web links to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
