This DIY (do-it-yourself) project comes from Paris-based blogger Pascale Mestdagh. Pascale shares her projects and crafts on her blog, // Between the lines //.

Tools:

An old T-shirt · Matching thread · Scissors · A button · A piece of ribbon · Sewing machine

Steps:

1 & 2. Take an ironed, adult-size T-shirt, right side out and fold it in half vertically.

3 & 4. Cut off the sleeves and around the neck-line.

5. Sew the bottom of the shirt closed using a French seam. Next, turn the bag inside out and sew another seam, tucking the first seam inside. Next, make boxed corners: fold the bag right sides together so that the side seam matches up with the bottom seam. Draw a line perpendicular to the seam line. Sew along the drawn line. Repeat for the other corner. Now, iron everything flat.

6 & 7. Fold the bottom of the bag over about 6 cm. Now, starting about 8 cm from the side, using your

scissors make 1.5 to 2 cm long cuts. Continue to the other side and stop about 8 cm from the side seam.

8 & 9. Fold the bottom over some more and repeat the cuts in between those from the last step.
