In Barcelona, as the winter weather departs and spring approaches, we all begin to think about the beach and, of course, the cleaning around the house that we should have done but didn't quite get around to when it was too cold. After a long day at work, tidying is the last thing on anyone's mind. It still has to be done though and many specialist agencies have woken up to the fact that real cleaning needs to have much more sex appeal.

Such agencies now supply fantasy maids so that busy professionals can sit back and enjoy a domestic goddess cleaning the very things that they work so hard for. The service includes all aspects of housekeeping, stimulating conversation and a variety of french maid outfits. Sometimes you can decide what the maid wears. It sounds great, doesn't it? Sadly, Barcelona doesn't have one of these agencies in town.

For research purposes I organised a photo-shoot recently where I posed as one of these domestic goddesses, dressed in a skimpy apron and high heels. Everyone owns an apron but they are rarely, if ever, used. Personally, I've always found them really sexy.

It was only after we had finished the shoot that I found out about the apron fetish and, especially, the meaning of the Japanese word hadaka. Hadaka means nude and when it is paired with apron, a particular fetish is described. The term hadaka apron is used to describe a situation where a person, almost always a woman, wears an apron over her nude – or partially underwear-covered – body.

So, get those sexy, unused aprons out of the drawer and start putting them to good use.
