We live in an era of sexual liberation. Sex is no longer just an act between two people; it can be shared with groups of strangers, or like swingers, with more than one pair. For some this stirs up visions of Woodstock with topless women covered in body paint making love with their partners and neighbors in the middle of a field. This is not the case.

Relationships can get difficult over time. After years of monotony some get bored.Some couples choose to end the relationship – others may cheat – but a growing number enjoy the swinging option. They may place ads in newspapers, find other couples in bars, or go to swingers’ clubs to meet their perfect pair.

Swinging is not as spontaneous as people may think. Some pairs of couples speak to each other over the telephone, exchange emails and photos, and then meet. The couple must be confident in their love for each other and discuss what they want to get out of the experience beforehand. It’s an act of trust, and communication with common ideals.

There are also boundaries and set rules for swinging. The rules for swingers are based on respect for each individual involved. If two couples have agreed to swing, normally the women will begin to kiss. After, if the men would like to join, they must go slowly and pay attention to the body language of the females. If a woman begins to back away, the man must take note and retreat. The rules of swinging must be obeyed during, after, and before the act.

Although swingers are of all ages and races, there are also rules on exactly who can participate. Unless a single man is invited by a couple to swing, he cannot enter a swingers’ club. A man entering with prostitutes is also not acceptable. Swingers have lines and they cannot be crossed, no free loving orgies accepted. Barcelona has a plethoraof swingers’ clubs that enforce these strict rules.

The city’s Training Events Club has a trio night the first Thursday of every month, allowing those who enjoy an occasional ménage à trois the chance to indulge. The Libert Club includes rooms with different themes and Seis Y Nueve offers ‘Disco Swinging’, loosening up guests in their two-floor discotheque before heading off to the intimate rooms for the “main event”.

The options are endless whether in swingers’ clubs or in the comfort of a home, but swinging requires time and thought. For some, it can be the perfect way to revive a relationship through trust, respect and lots of pleasure. The days of Woodstock are over; this is modern-day free love.

Need to know info about swingers clubs in Barcelona
