With our growing addiction to all things online, we increasingly demand mind-blowing content at an ever faster pace. Tendencias.tv, with its engaging and timely reporting, responds to this need. This online television web, blog and magazine seeks the new, up-and-coming, urban and even underground with channels of young, original and insightful content divided into categories Large, Fashion, FunFood, Culture and Living. A mix of smart editing, fashionable styling, fun reporting and distinctive topics make up each of the site’s short video episodes.

Based in Barcelona, Tendencias.tv was launched in 2005 by four partners who combine courage, determination, technological know-how and a keen desire to share audiovisual stories online. They created the site at a time when Youtube was still new and online video was uncommon. Their initial concept was built purely around fashion; however they soon delved deeper into the trends that inform fashion, including art, music, lifestyle, food and even cocktails. This awakening led to their success today.

The site’s editorials have covered both sung and unsung artists, festivals large and small, fashion weeks and events (London, Cíbeles Madrid, 080 Barcelona, Valencia), art fairs such as London’s Frieze Art Fair and Madrid’s ARCO Contemporary Art Fair, fashion trade shows like Berlin’s Bread & Butter and inspiring interviews with coolhunters and designers, including Krizia Robustella, winner of the Grand Prize at the last 080 for both best womenswear and menswear collection, a historic first. Under the current leadership of coolhunter guru Francesca Tur, their contents have clearly hit a mark. Downloads of their free podcasts through Apple’s iTunes store are beginning to rival those of media goliaths like TV3 and RTVE.

With a growing prestige among the fashion blogging community and increasing appearances in traditional media, Tendencias.tv will no doubt continue to fascinate us with its “urban visual anthropology” that tells the story of today’s fashion and urban culture trends.
