Loved by some and loathed by others, Valentine's Day will soon be upon us once again. If Cupid hasn't struck you with any inspiration yet, here's the lowdown on some of the best places in Barcelona to grab a gift or two before February 14.

ART Montfalcon is a goldmine of quirky, colorful gift ideas: the eclectic store sells a range of stylish and original jewelry and watches for men and women, as well as prints and sculptures by local artists and unique clothing and accessories influenced by pop art and retro advertising. For culture vultures or those with less traditional tastes, try Chandal, a haven of vintage cameras, rare vinyls and cute DIY kits – nothing says “I love you” like a homemade ukulele, right?

Moving upmarket, you can splash out at Aire de Barcelona traditional Arabian baths. The spa offers a range of gift vouchers allowing recipients to unwind in the thermal baths; for deeper de-stressing, add aromatherapy or a relaxing massage. If you're looking for something more sexual than sensual, Le Boudoir sells sex toys, accessories, erotic books and lingerie. Prices vary, with fun accessories available at less than ten euros to Swarovsky crystal-studded handcuffs at €168.

If all else fails, Farga Barcelona sell exquisite gourmet chocolates at stores located in each of their restaurants, while French-owned boutique Au Nom de la Rose provides stunning bouquets of Saint Valentine's favorite flower, offering tree or heart-shaped ensembles in an array of pastel colors. It might seem clichéd, but the classic route of chocolates and flowers can never lead you astray.
