Portable privacy devices including bags, visors, and hats, for those unafraid of looking like city street dandelions.

It’s pretty difficult to have a private conversation in a city with a population of a million plus. Whether it’s in a foreign language – usually drawing additional attention – or the official one, escaping stares from onlookers and the uncomfortable nuzzling of eavesdroppers trying to get in every word on the metro, in the streets and in restaurants, is quite a challenge. For those who wouldn’t object to looking like dandelions, the Italian women of GAIA: Gloria, Arianna, Illaria and Adele, a group of product designers with art, performance and vocal backgrounds, have created Veasyble: portable privacy objects.

Veasyble bags, visors and caps expand out in an accordion fashion providing wearers with different levels of privacy and some shelter. Fold the Veasyble cap down over the face to silence the buzz of the city and get a meditative snooze during lunch in a busy plaza. The stylish over-the-shoulder messenger bag unfolds and can fit over two people hoping to have a more intimate conversation—might not be a bad idea as well for the city’s romantics engaging in explicit PDAs about town.
