Bar Ese Efe (“SF” in Spanish, for San Francisco) opened its doors in January thanks to California-natives Sites and his business partner, Michael Norris, as well as Cuban bar maestra Milene Lopez. Offering quality imported and local craft brews on tap and impromptu acoustic sessions by rock stars passing through Barcelona, Ese Efe is getting an endorsement from local beer guru, Steve Huxley. Author of the “beer bible” La Cerveza…Poesía Líquida, Huxley describes the joint as “beer, music and bon ami.” A rustic place, adorned with vintage photos, instruments and sculptures, it’s the only Barcelona bar that has San Francisco’s Anchor Liberty Ale on tap. Sites is happy to offer customers brew samples, make recommendations or chat about rock stars. His latest album cover art is featured on California punk rock group NOFX’s CD, The Longest EP, out in August.
