So, it has been nothing but food delivery, going to fast food joints, watching the dust collect in the corners of my room and also the laundry pile higher and higher than I have ever seen - the constant rain is not helping the situation - since I have been back. I have only cooked once, tuna pasta, which was stored in various plastic containers to bring to work and attempt to get my eating habits back in track....what gives? Why is it so hard to get back into the daily routine?
It doesn't help that the end of January has been filled with fun events, making the time I would be spending at home cleaning my room or doing laundry, well, for the moment non-existent. I am not complaining, it has been great going out, highlights including a cena de solteros (singles' dinner) -don't knock 'em till you try 'em, just think, 'new year, new you'- which was filled with interesting people and great food from Mezzaluna, as well as a fine beatbox performance by Rizumik at Galeria AreaDos3Dos last week.
But, how do people go out as part of their living? The PR folks and such, I mean, my going out five days out of seven has made me off-balance, a wardrobe disaster and let's not get into the large bags under my eyes... Thinking about it, I don't even have enough outfits to go out and be photographed at events and such all the time, so hat's definitely off to those who are out and about every night of the week, promoting events, etc.... For now, the best remedy is, I guess, just programming a longer disco nap during the day. Unless anyone's got a better trick to do it all, work, study, go out and well, help out the roomies.
At least the sun is shining today, so that laundry will soon be zapped. And since the magazine is now set for print, getting home during daylight is a possibility.
For those looking for stuff to check out this week, 080 kicks off today, the main event, a Bibian Blue runway show at 5pm, then The Brandery starts on Wednesday and it is the time to get clad in black and get messy, as calçot season officially kicks off in Valls on Sunday--€6 for a ticket! If you have not tasted the long, charcoal grilled sweet onions drenched in romesco sauce, you have not lived, also a great way to start easing into the spring spirit.
