In the whole 8 years that I have been kicking around, Clot station has NEVER been one of my favorites. The fact that it is a synonym for blockage has always made me think that passing through Clot would make the trip to my final destination, a well, slow one. Now, with the Renfe cercanias (suburban train) obras, a trip through 'clogged up' station is a must in order to get to one of my favorite beaches, Ocata. Here is a little breakdown of all the changes for all those who don't want to wander aimlessly through the now hot and sticky train stations and be part of the chaos this construction is causing.

Note: metro service and trains to the airport are not affected by the construction and an extra FYI: the whole thing is due to the changing of the overhead cable for the trains.

From August 3rd to 16th work will be done on the Sants-Plaça Catalunya - Arc de Triomf corridor, and from the 17th to 23rd, the Arc de Triomf and Clot / Aragó stations will be affected.

From August 3rd to 16th Plaça de Catalunya and Arc de Triomf stations will be out of service. This will affect the following cercanías (suburban) lines:

Line 1 (Maçanet-L'Hospitalet): the trains start or end the journey in Clot / Aragó.

Line 3 (L'Hospitalet-Vic): runs only to Sant Andreu Arenal.

Line 4 (Manresa-Sant Vicenç deCalders): For Manresa, Barcelona, services will start and finish at Sant Andreu Arenal, while Sant Vicenç de Calders, Barcelona trains begin or end their journey in Sants.

Line 7 (Martorell-L'Hospitalet): Trains will reach Montcada-Bifurcació.

As of August 17th, cercanías lines 3, 4 and 7 will resume their usual (pre-obras) service, but Line 1 will keep the changes mentioned above. Plaça Catalunya and Arc de Triomf stations will operate normally.

You can see more about this at Renfe's website as well.
