Miniblog

Ever come a time (or several times) in your life when you are depleted of energy, your mind goes to mush and you feel you can't go on?

I've always been a fan of the expression 'hit the wall', which is a cooler way of saying you've 'lost energy', originating in marathon running speak (which, by the way also has another great word, bonking: body stalls mid-run). It also comes in handy today, the day I feel like I can not go any further, not even to peel myself from the proverbial wall. You can always tell when it is production time here at Miniguide as the miniblog posts get fewer and far between, and well, as we are on the verge of delivering to the printer, this time, more than any other, I feel like a deflated basketball (we all are in the office).

After staring at tons of text, chasing after sources, contributors, being confined within four walls as the sun shines and living off delivery food, it is as if my brain has shut off, quit, packed up and left. Formulating sentences, speaking, in either Spanish or English has become a great challenge. I am being reminded of the Sex and the City episode when Samantha ran out of orgasms and wonder, have I run out of words?

Maybe I should pick up Carol Talbot's book, Hitting the Wall and Breaking Through. Honestly, I am open to any suggestions...
