The time has come to commence the maneuver for getting the body in Baywatch-caliber status for warmer weather and beach bumming come May.

The latest activity to challenge communication with people around the world over the Internet - a bit like extreme viral pen-paling - is chatroulette.

Language Learning in Bed

When I first opened the press release about the new feature from MyOxfordEnglish, I thought it was a special English course centered around vocabulary for the bed, as in 'amorous' sayings that can be used during intimacy....and I have to admit, I was skeptical, as learning dirty talk in another language, is well, kind of uncomfortable and strange, even adapting to foreign language pet names takes some getting used to and I still have problems using amor and such. Somehow it doesn't roll right off my anglo-tongue and then I directly translate in my head, (love), weird. I know it means honey or sweetie, but, when I think amor, I automatically think, love. I would prefer using honey, but to do so, my brain wants to say miel, and I am not going to call someone that.....

Spain's Eurovision Contender

This year Spain goes to the contest with Daniel Diges, an actor and singer, and "Algo pequenito", complete with Julio Iglesias-esque crooning atop an Andrew Lloyd Webber-ish, but Gypsy infused, musical composition.

V-day and Carnival

With two holidays (Valentine's and Carnival) coinciding this weekend, get that disco nap in now, because there is a lot of merriment to be had. And for those with a bit of a sad clown face at not having anyone to partner up with during this love week/weekend, and the sting made even stronger with people on Facebook posting up pics of themselves with their partners and telling their love stories and such....well, surely you will find someone 'Mr./Ms. Right Now' at one of these parties and if not, well, at least have a good dance and some laughs with friends and strangers!

A bit excessive, but even in the now third week since I have been back from the winter holidays, I am still struggling to get back into the swing of things due to work, taking classes online and going out like a semi-maniac--really, worse for my roommates, whom I haven't been a help to at all, seriously slacking in the cleaning up department.

Couture Wednesdays: Don't Believe the Hype

In my eyes, I've always seen the Miniguide as the perfect opportunity and a precious space where it is our duty and responsibility to give a voice to those who don't have one and share all the interesting and worthwhile happenings in Barcelona with a wider audience, I mean, why waste time and space complaining, right?---also, I dd vow to stop complaining full-stop as my New Year's resolution, but seem to be doing MORE of it, than less, or none at all...
