Kick off to the weekend. In BCN check out Nick Cave's concert and book presentation, a free meditation workshop and even some swinging.

Nick Cave is back in Barcelona to present his latest novel, The Death of Bunny Munro -a digital version of which is available for download on his website- and give a concert at Casino l'Aliança del Poblenou at 10pm on Saturday the 24th. Tickets are a bit pricey, at €65 euros, but for those die-hard fans of the bluesy, punk rocker, it'll be well worth it. Visit ticktackticket or call 902 15 00 25 to get a seat, also on the Facebook page for the event, one guy is trying to sell off the tickets he bought and unfortunately can't use.

For people preferring to spend their Saturday evening in a more wholesome and reflective way, there is a free intro to Zen meditation class at the Dojo Zen Born, C/Agullers, 18 at 7pm on the 24th. Space is limited, send them an email to reserve your spot. Just a word on Zen meditation, it is done open-eyed ---challenging, but take it from someone whose tried these classes, rewarding. The introductory class is broken into two half hour sessions, with a five minute meditaton walk in between. Wear comfortable clothing, be prepared to sit in the Lotus position and stare at the wall for an extended period of time, also, brush up on body part names in Catalan, as the class is conducted in Catalan, although, they do also speak Spanish. Visit the web for more info.

On Sunday, I will be finishing off the weekend with a swing, not doing the dance or couple swapping, but literally getting outfitted in a harness and swinging through the trees at Selva de L'Aventura, the 'acrobatic forest park' in Coll de Ravell (between Vic and Girona). The Tarzan-esque day is a treat from my girlfriends for my birthday, so if you don't hear from me Monday, send a search party as I will most likely be hanging from a large oak or something......and with that, Happy Friday and enjoy the weekend.
