ImprovEverywhere, the org that puts together pre-planned improv missions, such as the Mp3 experiments, getting strangers who only share colored Tees and mp3s in common, to follow audio instructions and dance, jump and just be silly in the center of major cities like Barcelona, as well as spontaneous musicals in supermarkets in New York, is wasting no time in kicking off 2010 in a flashmob way.
If you've never been to a flashmob event, just know this, whether you have started 2010 with a good bang, or seem to have some serious bad luck ever since the clock struck 12am -overflowing toilets, breaking the parents' microwave, even accidentally deleting precious photos from the last several years- these events put instant smiles to the faces of participants ---I got giddy after my first time at the BCN mp3 experiment. One guy who was part of the Oprah Winfrey show's flashmob with the Black Eyed Peas, described the event as "joy uprising". Thanks to director Michael Gracey and staff, some 20,000 people congregated in Chicago and performed a synchronized dance to BEP's "I Gotta Feeling".
So, here's your chance to show off those new 2010 legs and just have FUN with your fellow city dwellers.
