Barna Hill Carnaval at Sala Apolo: (Poble Sec) Just mentioning the names Plat du Jour and Holala Ibiza, you know that this party will be nothing but a sweaty, pogo-inducing merri mess, complete with the unpredictable 8bit act Meneo. So, get dressed up and get ready for Tomb Crew with a Caribbean rave set, Meneo's electropical blips, Heatwave and so much more, and start coming up with an excuse not to make it into work tomorrow, 'cause like Pringles, with this party, once you pop, you won't be able to stop. El Carnaval at Sutton: (Sant Gervasi) On the success of last year's event, Sutton repeats their colorful Carnaval fiesta. From 12am. €15 (with drink).
Feb 13th:
Carnaval Costume Party at aDa Gallery: (Raval) In celebration of the hedonistic fiesta, the socially conscious art gallery, aDa Gallery, puts its own Bollywood spin on things, offering a Bollywood dress up fiesta, that starts at the gallery, then moves on to bar Zelig. From 9pm-11pm. Free entry.
Valentine's Massacre at Sidecar: (Barri Gòtic) Along with The Gangsters of Love – set to release their first EP Criminal on Barcelona-based label What About Music – pop-punk group Volpina and Zee Doctur und Zee Dollz go-go burlesque performers will take the stage. This party promises an evening of bohemian, cross cultural debauch, and not a rose in sight. From 10pm-12.30am. €6.
Monster Museum Makeup for Carnaval: (Gràcia) Come and get your makeup done for Carnival, what's your pleasure? Zombie, Skeleton, Vampire? Expert makeup artists will be on hand to transform you into your choice for only €3. Horror music, some pica-pica and even some ghouls hanging out in-store, too. From 4pm-9pm.
Step It Up Valentine's/Carnaval Special with Roger C at Seven Sins: (Raval) You're guaranteed dancefloor funk from old to new, conscious roots reggae music, knees to the chest ska, ass shakin soul, positive hip hop (no bling, just block-party tunes!), latin and afro hammers! Roger C will play from 11.30pm-12.30am and resident DJ mark 92 takes over after that. Space limited! From 10.40pm-3.30am. Free entry.
Feb 14th and 16th:
Sitges Carnaval 2010: IS there any other party to go to on Carnival Sunday and Tuesday???? Didn't think so, all the debauchery and costume-wearing fun will be had in Sitges. Just be careful with those cameras and you might want to bring along a blanket if you choose to slumber on the beach and some slippers for the train ride/stumble home.

Carnestoltes and Carnaval at Thiossan: (Gràcia) The African restaurant, where wine is €2 a glass and you can get some complimentary peanuts - if you act hungry enough - hosts a party with DJ Txema spinning roots and reggae, afro and rumba, and Latin soul boogaloo at Torrent de les Flors, 22. Free chupito if you're wearing a costume. From 12am. Free entry.
El Carnaval at Row14: Madrid DJ Cristian Varela plays a special 4-hour set, with house resident DJ Marc Huardi at ROW14. From 12am. €13 (web purchase).
