Experimental jazz / folk / pop outfit Piccola Orchestra Gagarin cites Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space, as their primary influence. The group was born in Barcelona after their first concert in 2010; the recording of their second became their debut album, Platos Combinados (2011).
Venture back into orbit tonight with Paolo Angeli (Sardinian guitar), Sasha Agranov (cello) and Oriol Roca (percussion). Tea bistro Artte will be the launchpad, Merlí Borrell’s visuals the backdrop – astronaut suits highly recommended.
