Headliners Odio París cite influences ranging from The Stone Roses to My Bloody Valentine and The Jesus and Mary Chain. They discovered their sunny sounds organically, spending hours jamming together in the studio. Check out what they’re all about by listening to their debut LP, Cuando nadie pone un disco. Odio París will be joined by Cosmen Adelaida, a Madrid-based five piece who sing in Castilian and love Spanish folklore as much as they do the Madchester years. They were finalists in bands competitions including Contempopránea’s Grupo Revelación Nacional in 2010 and FIB’s Proyecto Demo in 2011. Grushenka are rising stars of the Barcelona music scene. Their most recent album, Demo II, offers a heady mix of soaring guitars and blissful vocals.
Each band will bring something unique and special to the table at this celebration of fresh and innovative talent. You can expect an evening of guitars, Moogs and floppy hair in one of Barcelona’s most prized gig venues. Come down, sup a beer and show some love for Spain’s homegrown talent. It’s worth getting down there early – the first 50 through the door get a free CD featuring tracks from El Genio Equivocado’s finest artists.
