Arctic Monkeys appear to be refreshingly unphased by the dwindling size of their fan base. Since the meteoric ascension to fame that came with their debut album, their sound has mellowed somewhat. They no longer get into fights in Sheffield kebab shops, so they don’t pretend that they do.
Suck It and See was their fourth album, released in June this year to positive reviews. It is tracks from this record that you are most likely to hear at their Palau Sant Jordi gig in January. Their loyal fans are those who come for the artistry and skill, rather than the beer swilling swagger. Chances are this concert will be all the better for it. And there’s no way you’ll leave without an encore of “Mardy Bum”!
