Miquel Barceló gained internation recognition after participating in the "Documenta 7" in Kassel in 1982, and has since had his paintings, drawings, ceramics and sculptures displayed in galleries and cultural sites all over the world. However, much of the artist's work from before this period remains unknown or undervalued. Split into six sections, including self portraits and experimental poetry, Barceló antes de ser Barceló (Barceló before being Barceló) exhibits and celebrates the Majorca-born painter's early works, including many unseen pieces from his personal collection and from private galleries across Europe.
