Day trips outside of the city are ideal and healthy. A great excuse to hop on the train for 15 minutes to Terrassa is the second annual Baumann short film festival. Celebrating new and innovative audiovisual creations, this festival has something for everyone and highlights today’s top shorts, videoclips, animation, documentaries and experimental films by emerging local and international artists.
Of the 367 films, there are several must-sees including a new favorite of mine, La Huída by Victor Carry that expands and plays with time. Other program notables include the premiere of Barcelona electro-indie band Dorian’s latest videoclip La ciudad subterránea (third of a trilogy), several gems from recent graduates of Spanish film schools and the new animations Dog balls, Desanimado, Ninnophono and Petita Vida.
Movies, medieval ruins and fresh air, what more could one ask for while bringing this Barcelona summer to a close?
