Most famed for their Dylanesque hit “Take Off Your Sunglasses,” Ezra Furman & the Harpoons write slightly old-fashioned and very American indie rock with thoughtful, poetic lyrics – imagine a more upbeat, raucous version of Clem Snide or Willy Mason. Following the success of their third album Mysterious Power, released to critical acclaim earlier this year, lead singer Ezra is now leaving the Harpoons at home for a while and heading to Europe, embarking on a solo tour that will take him through Spain in late November.

Known for his energetic stage presence, Furman was a favorite at Primavera Sound back in 2009 and this series of smaller but equally enjoyable gigs will no doubt have his Spanish fans enthralled once more. Offering a preview of tunes from his forthcoming solo album, due for release in 2012, as well as a mix of the Harpoons' hits, Furman will play Barcelona's CityHall on November 27th in the first of a series of concerts organized by music blog Indiespot.
