Bearing the fruits of a competition held in May, this month’s photography exhibition I Sense Lomo spans four creative spaces – Cream Espai Creatiu, Gracia Arts Project, Jaleo and Puntolineasuperficie – and four respective themes based on the senses: “My favorite touch,” “The smell of summer,” “What would you like?” and “The sound of the city.”

Though the project was sponsored by photography giants Lomography, snaps taken with any old analog camera were welcome so long as the budding photographer adhered to the Lomo credo of “Don’t Think, Just Shoot.” Inspired by the 80s Russian LOMO LC-A camera which they later licensed to distribute, Lomography also manufactures such coveted classics as the Diana, Holga, and Fish Eye and has spawned a cult approach to photography which abandons technical formality in favor of candid spontaneity and an instinctive, reportage style, along with the trademark saturated color and blurry edges. Expect to be taken on a rapid and playful sensory tour of the city.
