Plus One is the young and fresh-faced member of the turntablist crew. He won the DMC World Championships back in 2001, the first time the UK had won the prize in ten years. What you may not know about Plus One is that he is also back under a different alias. On September 8th Jack Beats are taking over Razzmatazz. The producer and DJ duo are made up of Ben Geffin of The Mixologists and, of course, everybody's favorite pervert: Plus One.
Jack Beats first hit the consciousness of the clubbing world back in 2009 when they released their U.F.O. EP on Hervé's Cheap Thrills label. The tracks were heavily laden with delectable wobble and bass and an injection of unashamed fun. The cheeky duo claim to take their influences from the likes of Timbaland, Rage Against the Machine and A Guy Called Gerald, giving some clue to the eclectic world that goes on inside their record bags.
At their Razzmatazz showcase, they will be supported by Spanish king of bass and funky, Chelis and the Disboot label's dubstep-loving c156. The event is organized by TheBus, the team behind some of Barcelona's biggest bass parties. TheBus are doing so well that they've seen it fit to celebrate their one and a half year birthday! So come down, bring them a cake and witness the club explode to the raucous sounds of Jack Beats.
