The New Raemon is the alter ego of Catalan singer-songwriter Ramón Rodríguez, currently on tour around the country following the success of his sixth album Libre Asociación earlier this year. The album cover, created by photographer David Elvira, shows a man and a woman lost in the depths of a darkened forest, faint torchlight illuminating the sinister wolf masks that hide their faces.

Strange and ominous but also beautiful, it’s a picture that perfectly captures the tone of the album. Having moved away from the light indie vibe of his earlier work, Libre Asociación sees Rodríguez create a much stronger rock sound based on electric guitars and powerful vocals. The music is striking but melancholy, paired with lyrics written in a poetic yet somewhat haunting Spanish. Set to play all across Spain throughout the winter, The New Raemon’s tour will end at the Apolo in January.
