Zachari Logan, a 28-year-old Canadian artist with a fondness for featuring nude male figures in his works, often uses his own body as the subject. His exhibit, Duality, comes to Galería Artevistas in August and includes renditions of the self through art-historical allegories. Drawings are based on classical and biblical narratives, as Logan desires to re-situate “these dual characters in contemporary space and costuming, to create a subverted continuity with the ways in which the male body has been codified.”

In a city adamant that tourists “cover up” this summer, but where a nude beach is easily accessible and passersby can freely examine the naked bodies of men (and women), the Logan exhibition offers another opportunity to focus – or fixate – on male physicality.
