Formulated by Alejandro Jodorowsky. a Chilean artist, these two-day seminars are dedicated to awakening the senses and increasing body consciousness, in an effort to help participants re-learn what it means to make love. Carey Zamarriego

A black and white poster featuring a naked couple suggestively entwined has the title Hacer el Amor (making love) emblazoned on it in bright red. Advertising lovemaking workshops, the pair on the poster are not bodybuilders, sex fiends or anything of the like, but rather a shy couple, who through their own experiences studying psychology, tantra, meditation and massage, feel they have something special to impart to the masses on intimacy.

Axel, a former engineer and boat designer-turned-photographer, and his partner Laura, a bodywork therapist, explain that the Hacer el Amor idea came about after studying various things, including psychomagic. Formulated by Alejandro Jodorowsky, a Chilean artist, writer and philosopher, the therapeutic practice holds that witnessing a performance of a problem can heal psychological wounds. Axel and Laura have taken this idea further, Axel claiming that “love making is a very precise mirror of who we are and how we live and ‘observing’ it can help us understand where our problems lie.” So, they decided to create a series of two-day seminars dedicated to awakening the senses and increasing body consciousness, in an effort to help participants re-learn what it means to make love.
