As the name suggests, Ladyloquita’s style is young, very feminine and slightly romantic. Each of the two boutiques is decorated with meticulous attention to detail, styled with patterned wallpaper and floral floortiles and adorned with charming articles such as vintage telephones and record players, creating that convincingly “bygone” look that is so popular right now. But while the decor might hark back to previous eras, the designs themselves are brand new; the boutiques offer the creations of the best young labels, collecting beautiful and unusual pieces from both Spain and overseas. Among the carefully arranged displays you might find sweet frocks by Pepa Loves, elegant dresses from Yumi London and delicate bracelets by Princesa de la Boca de Fresa featuring birds, flowers, anchors.
Ladyloquita has been specializing in this girly vintage chic long before the style gained mainstream popularity, putting the store several years ahead of its time. Indeed, the boutique is always a beat before the trend, perhaps because its owners are also designers in their own right: Meeta runs Tiralahilacha, a vintage-inspired label that adds a childlike touch to cute 50s-style summerwear, while Laura recently founded Cucut, a line of necklaces replicating antique items such as pocket-watches, cuckoo clocks and penny farthings.
With its hand-picked range of original designs, Ladyloquita is the ideal spot if you’re hunting for a classy but atypical outfit for a party or a night out, a thoughtful gift for a friend or just a little knick-knack to brighten up your bedroom.
