MOS DEF – The Ecstatic
Mos Def’s latest effort will be released on his new label, Downtown Records. After the commercial disappointment of his last album in 2006, the New York rapper decided to tweak things ‘round a bit. Produced by Kanye West and including collaborations with Madlib, as well as a promising first single “Time in Marvellous Times”, sounds like a winner.
INDIA ARIE – Testimony: Vol. 2 Love & Politics
The follow-up to 2006’s highly acclaimed Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship is led by the single “Chocolate High” (Feat. Musiq Soulchild). The album also includes collaborations with MC Lyte and Keb Mo, among others. As the title suggests, the Soulbird Music star’s new 11-track release is all about love and politics.
TWO TONGUES – Two Tongues
Max Bemis and Coby Linder of Say Anything along with Chris Conley and David Soloway of Saves The Day have teamed up to form a new side project, indie rock group Two Tongues. Judging by the excitement of band members, as well as the first single “Crawl”, the release of their first self-titled album on Vagrant records will be well worth the wait.
THESE GREEN EYES – Relapse to Recovery
The five-piece rock group from New Haven, Connecticut are back. Headed by lead vocalist Colin Cunningham, the band’s new album reflects on their trials and tribulations over the last five years. It tackles issues of friendship, loss, remorse, and ultimately hope. With catchy hooks and powerful vocals, it will undoubtedly capture the imagination of listeners.
