Located on Via Laietana, Otrascosas de Villarrosàs is a creative space dedicated to both everything and nothing. Sophie Cameron

After setting up the Villarrosàs advertising agency, founders Oriol Villar and Jordi Rosàs decided they wanted to extend their talents to “otras cosas” (other things). As the name suggests, gallery Otrascosas de Villarrosàs is the eclectic end product of their unique vision. Located in the same building as its sister company on Via Laietana, Otrascosas is a creative space divided into six parts and dedicated to both everything and nothing.

The gallery refuses to specialize in art – or fashion, design, or any one specific medium for that matter. Instead, it hosts conferences, debates, live music and theater performances; screens documentaries, music videos, classic and modern films; as well as exhibits paintings, sculptures, strange objects and furniture. With “otras cosas” as its only theme, there are no limits to what you might find there. On display until June 30th is Sobre La Mesa, a tribute to the table, organized in collaboration with Apartamento magazine. The project celebrates the table not just as a design object but also as the centerpiece of daily and family life (a place to eat, drink, work, talk, think and be merry), looking at it throughout the ages and around the world.
