Iguapopgoers will be familiar with BCN-based Canadian artist Mike Swaney. In 2007, he briefly transformed the gallery into an anthropological museum, filling it with artifacts from a fictitious past civilization. Art history, museums and folk culture are strong recurring themes. Swaney’s main medium is collage, often featuring abstract figures, strong architectural forms and ambiguous narratives, leaving the viewer to interpret. For Zulu Voodoo Buda Guru, expect more intense and colorful collages, a nod to his time in Miami, sculptural installations and lots of viewer interaction.
