Ten years after the death of renowned Catalan sculptor Josep Salvadó Jassans, the Museu Europeu d’Art Modern pays tribute to him with the most accomplished exhibition of his work ever organized, recently shown at the Museum of Montserrat.

A key figure in Catalan sculpture, Jassans dedicated his talent to conveying the spirit of the classics to new generations. With an original approach to Mediterranean sculpture, he provides a distinctive vision of Greece by interpreting natural shapes, particularly the forms of the human body. His work is both timeless and classic.

The exhibition is accompanied by parallel events, such as the roundtable “Jassans and the Transmission of Sculpture” on February 23rd, the lecture “Jassans and the Passion for Sculpture” on March 1st at Biblioteca Clarà and sculpture workshops on February 25th, March 25th and April 1st.
