Just one block north of the emblematic Casa de les Punxes – which this summer opened its doors as a museum dedicated to Modernista architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch – something is brewing. And this something is Dutch, in praise of slow and a little bit hipster (pardon my French).
For their recently opened concept store Depot Holland, the lovely couple Renzo and Deborah have curated a wonderful selection of products by Dutch brands and designers, like Eau d’Amsterdam (the scent of Amsterdam’s elm trees in a bottle), Lekker Bikes (for some real Dutch bicycle happiness), Yunit (slow fashion collection) and beautiful collages by Mirthe Blussé, to name just a few.
At the back of the shop you will find a slow coffee corner, and the enormous basement of more than 250 m2 (2,700 ft2) will soon be converted into a creative space for exhibitions, workshops and coworking.
