Opened in May 2016, Hell Gallery is the newest project by Hell Collective founders Miguel Leal (Sevilla), a visual artist who works in mixed media, and DJ and producer Elwood (Barcelona). Located in the heart of the Raval, the gallery serves as a unique hybrid space that blends art, culture and electronic music. The showroom presents new artists and creations, exhibitions and performances as well as a design goods store, a bookstore, a vinyl record store and an art gallery, which offers graphic works at affordable prices.
The inaugural exhibition, Cecilismus by Miroir Noir, debuted in May. Miroir Noir is artist duo Rai Escalé (formerly of Barcelona’s Eat Meat gallery) and Miloš Kopták (Slovakia), who opened the exhibition together with DJs Peer Shott (Urban Legend, Barcelona), Rnxrx (Urban Legend, Barcelona) and Yohm (Channel Auditif, France). Check the gallery’s Facebook page or website for ongoing shows, such as their current exhibition, Image Thief by Alejandro Casanova, which opened on May 4th.
