    Pulgas Mix is back for its 17th foray into the world of fashion, music, innovation and art. The two-day event sees Barcelona step ever closer to being an international contender on the flea market scene. The Sant Agustí convent in the Born will welcome over 60 stallholders from Barcelona and beyond peddling everything from fashion to jewelry to paintings to homeware. Each vendor has been cherry picked by the market’s organizers for their focus on sustainability and creativity.

    Beyond market stalls, Pulgas Mix will also offer you the opportunity to get hands on. There will be a series of workshops giving advice on how to live sustainably and how to think outside the box with recycled goods. And for kids, there are the Petit Fleas activities: mask workshops where the little ‘uns can get sticky and creative with reused materials.

    If music’s where you get your kicks, the event will not disappoint. Throughout the day there’ll be a whole program of DJs bringing beats to soundtrack your shopping. On Saturday, Julio Marks, Nero and The Timber will be spinning everything from breakbeat to nu jazz to funk. On Sunday, listen out for Doksan, Junior Lopez and Mata Haro back to back with Two Faces Dimo.

    And a party wouldn’t be a party in Barcelona without some visual treats. Murals, a new South American visual artist, will be creating a video mashup to accompany the music. He uses unique techniques, fusing images with digital brushes, and live video manipulation. Sounds confusing but it’s sure to look pretty special. Come down, show some love for the Barcelona flea scene and bring your wallet.
