Tucked above Bar Mut, speakeasy Mutis is an institution in its own right. This stylish space, created by Kim Díaz, ranks in lists of the world’s best bars and has welcomed guests such as Robert de Niro and Russell Crowe, plus performances from 2manydjs.

Not one to sit on his laurels, Díaz is leading the next stage in the bar’s evolution. The cocktails are gone; instead, his new team serves “noble drinks” composed of fine spirits with minimal manipulation: a quality whisky with premium spring water, for example, or excellent cognacs and rums. From Thursday to Saturday, chef Víctor Lema offers up rich creations like spaghetti with caviar & salmon roe or steak tartare, with live music after midnight.

On Wednesdays and Sundays the space transforms into a club, with a free buffet, cheaper drinks and soul, funk and blues from local DJs (with Glass Hat every Wednesday night spinning 7” singles of funk, soul, disco and jazz). Refined yet vibrant, this is a classy hangout for a slightly more mature crowd, a private club with an open attitude.
